Automatic restart messengers
Question: How can I ensure that the messenger has maximum uptime? How can I set up automatic restarts should the messenger stop for any reason? Response: The monitor monitors all services including the messengers. As soon as the monitor identifies that a messenger is not responding or is even stopped, the monitor will restart that service and send an alert email to the administrator. For this reason the monitor should always be running. HipLinkXS offers automatic starting scripts for messengers and monitor. On windows, the messengers and monitor run as an NT service and start automatically upon reboot. On Unix system, HipLinkXS will create start up scripts. During the installation, the administrator will be asked if these scripts shall be utilized. If the administrator does not answer “no”, the start up scripts will make sure that all HipLinkXS service (messengers, monitor and others) start upon reboot. |
