Messenger Problem

Problem: I cannot start any messenger. Nothing happens when I press the start button in the “Services” menu.

Response:

If the directory settings are empty or the specified directories don’t exist, the messenger can’t write to a log file and won’t start. Please check directory settings.

Check if the messenger is already running. If it doesn’t show up in the “Service” menu, please check with “Task Manager” or on Unix with “ps –ef | grep hiplink”.

For Windows: check in HiplinkXS / bin directory if the file daemon.exe is there – call HipLinkXS support at 604 257 3670 to verify file size and date.

On Unix: check in /usr/local/hiplink/bin directory if the file daemon.exe is there. Check the flags of daemon.exe – the flags should read “rwsr-xr-x” (use the command “ls –l”) Change if necessary with the command: “chmod 755 *.exe” and “chmod u+s *.exe”

The owner of the file should be root.
